About Us

The firm known today as Maguire Schneckenburger Legal Group LLC began in 1975 on the second floor of a house in Tallmadge, Ohio that had been converted to office space. Attorney Robert Maguire was a sole practitioner with a part-time secretary, establishing his law practice, focusing on estate planning and probate, in a single room that he rented for $50 per month.

It wasn’t long before the firm outgrew its modest beginnings, and soon, the practice proudly occupied office space on the entire first floor of one of Tallmadge’s beautiful historic homes. There, the practice thrived for more than two decades, building its reputation in the community as well as relationships with the families it served.

In 2001, the firm known at the time as Maguire Legal Group moved to its current location on East Avenue in Tallmadge and has continued to flourish. In 2016, Nicholas Schneckenburger joined the practice as a law clerk while still in law school at the University of Akron, becoming a full-time associate attorney in 2018 and a partner in 2021. The firm changed its name and became Maguire Schneckenburger Legal Group, LLC in 2022.

Maguire Schneckenburger Legal Group has seen many changes in its nearly fifty years. Nick has taken a leadership role in the firm in the last two years by becoming the managing partner, bringing on board additional attorneys and staff while expanding the office to over double its previous size. Bob continues to be active in the practice. Additionally, he mentors younger attorneys not only in the practice of law, but in applying the values upon which he established the firm. While the practice has had multiple locations and expanded its team and office space, those core values remain unchanged.

We continue to emphasize responsive service, good communication, and the high quality work product. It is important to us to use our skills and knowledge to serve our community because the families with whom we work are not just our clients, but our neighbors.
